One busy Sunday!

I got a lot accomplished today! Thank goodness!
We went out of town for Thanksgiving and then the boy came to visit for the weekend, which basically means I got NOTHING done! Today was for catching up, and I actually made a dent in my list! yea!!

Before I get into all that tho, I have to show you my NEW fave thing.
I got an anthroplogie (MY FAVORITE STORE IN THE WORLD!!) gift card for my birthday waaaaay back in October. I finally got to spend it yesterday on this lovely headband, I just adore it!




So, back to today...
Printed out an order of 20 of my Holiday Cards! I was SO happy to get that order!!



Now they are all packed and ready to go for tomorrow!





After that I spent a bit of time wrapping all of my gifts for my threadless secret santa recipient. This is my 3rd year participating in this and it is SO much fun!!
I have a blast putting together the gifts and wrapping them is half the fun!



I just want to get a few more candy treats and it will be ready to ship :)

Once that was done I moved onto Christmas -ing up the lovely Miss Tracy's blog header over @ http://sugarcrafter.net/. I did one for her for Halloween and she asked me to do it again for Christmas...I love doing stuff like that! Keep an eye on her blog for the MOST amazing recipes!! She makes the tasty tings!!

Then, I sat down to check on the interwebs and realized my Christmas Cupcake Notecards have been featured in this lovely chica's blog. Jill @ ThreadRare. She makes BEAUTIFUL hair pieces, check out her etsy shop. She's got FREE SHIPPING thru the Thanksgiving weekend!


Now I'm finishing up the last two loads of laundry and am about to run to the grocery store. See, I WAS busy today!! haha!

Today was a big day!

I've never owned a passport, it's VERY exciting!!

Fairy Lights = Fun!

The boy & I celebrated our 9 month anniversary yesterday
(11/21/2009).
We met on eHarmony and I never expected him to be as AWESOME as he is.
I think I'll keep him <3




I decided I wanted to have some fun with fairy lights last night and the boy and the kid humored me...the pics didn't come out all that great, but I'll take some more again soon.

If you set the microwave to 3:00 min. instead of 30 seconds...

...this is what happens.



I set the microwave and walked away, assuming it would turn off after 30 seconds.
Then I hear the kid screaming, "There is something smoking in the microwave and I think it's going to catch on fire!!!".
I ran to the kitchen and saw an INSANE amount of smoke billowing out of the microwave! Insane!!
When I opened the microwave door it was crazy white, toxic smelling smoke...and it went everywhere! Our entire house is gonna smell like smoke for awhile!!

so, yeah...not only did I make everything & everyone smell smokey this morning, I also didn't get to eat my chocolate pop tart :(

Don't you just love exciting morning funtimes!?!? :P

I'm totally ready to start Christmas shopping!

Too bad I want to buy EVERYTHING!!

This weekend was wonderful!

Got to the boy's house on Friday evening & had a lovely relaxing night.
Woke up Saturday Morning and took the kid to Sea World.

We saw a bunch of cool things....took lots of crappy pics, but here are a few highlights :D

I FINALLY tried out my YuDu Machine!

For my birthday, over a month ago, my friends and co-workers all chipped in and got me this...




So... I had the day off today and decided to finally take my new Yudu Screen printing machine out of the box! I had high hopes!!

The design I chose is one I made a couple of years ago and have been asked by so many people to have a shirt made with it.



So...I plugged in the machine & printed out my design on the transparency the machine came with. So far so good...



Then, I got the screen wet and attached the sheet of emulsion and stuck it in the little drying drawer. Took it out twenty minutes later & realized I had left the plastic sheet that separates the emulsion sheets on the emulsion! Took off the plastic sheet, re-wet the screen and stuck it back in the drying drawer for the second time. I must have used too much water the second time because it took an hour and a half to dry!!! I was frustrated!



I finally dragged out my blow dryer to finish the job!
However when I went to remove the plastic from the emulsion side, a tiny bit was still wet and it tore the emulsion in one little spot. But at this point I was so out of patience I went ahead and burned my image anyway. It actually burned very well.

However, once I rinsed of the emulsion I realized that some of the lines in my design were way to small & they peeled right off and actually ended up tearing some other parts of the design :(







So, really wanted to make shirts tonight, and was sad that I didn't get too...
But the experience was not a total loss.
Thanks to the handy dandy emulsion remover I was able to clean off the messed up design.




Which means the screen is nice & clean and can be used again for a different design another day...yea! I'm not scared to try again, but next time I will use a cleaner image with LARGER lines!
